The Curriculum Laboratory
houses, maintains and circulates a collection of print and non-print
materials related to all areas of the teacher education program and
provides access to equipment for the use of the non-print media.
In addition to the
circulation of materials, the Lab provides numerous study and
media-related services.
The Lab has work space,
equipment and materials available for the development of projects and
construction of teaching materials by the students. These projects include
the creation of videos, bulletin boards, transparencies, learning centers,
games and other teaching materials.
Binding and laminating machines
and an Ellison lettering machine are
available for student use. Laminating film may be purchased for 40 cents
per foot and transparency film for 25 cents per sheet. The Lab provides
access to a plain paper copier at a charge of 10 cents per copy. A limited
amount of supplies and materials are made available at no charge.
Space is also available
for conducting group meetings or just quiet study.
Laboratory personnel
offer professional guidance to students and faculty in the selection and
use of educational resources. The professional staff confers with students
as they plan their projects, identifies and locates appropriate materials and
advises them in the effective use of these materials.
Personnel also teach
students and faculty how to operate the various types of equipment used in
materials creation and classroom presentations.
Guided tours of the
Curriculum Laboratory are available upon request.
